This Privacy Policy explains how ABIS VOICE CALL NIG LTD("Abis Voice," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the Abis Voice mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). We process personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and its implementing regulations.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
- Identity verification data: your National Identification Number (NIN) or Bank Verification Number (BVN), full name, and date of birth, collected solely to verify your identity before you can purchase a virtual number. This data is encrypted at rest.
- Payment data: transaction references, amounts, and status from our payment partners (Paystack and Flutterwave). We do not collect or store your full card number or bank credentials — these are handled directly by our payment partners.
- Call detail records: the phone numbers involved, call duration, timestamps, and cost of each call, for billing, support, and fraud-prevention purposes. Voicemail recordings are stored when a call goes unanswered.
- Device and usage data: device push-notification tokens, app version, and general usage information needed to operate and improve the Service.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and wallet;
- To verify your identity before assigning you a virtual number, as required by applicable telecommunications regulation;
- To process payments, top-ups, and refunds;
- To connect, bill, and troubleshoot calls made through the Service;
- To send you service notifications (e.g. incoming calls, low balance, subscription renewal reminders) by push notification or email;
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service; and
- To comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Who we share your information with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate the Service, under contractual obligations to protect it:
- Payment processors (Paystack, Flutterwave) to process wallet top-ups;
- Telecommunications providers(Africa's Talking) to provision virtual numbers and route calls;
- Identity verification providers (Smile ID) to verify NIN/BVN submissions;
- Push notification providers (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver in-app notifications; and
- regulators or law enforcement, where required by law or a valid legal process.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
5. International data transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure the transfer is subject to adequate safeguards in line with the NDPA.
6. Data retention
We retain account, wallet, and transaction data for as long as your account is active and afterward as needed to meet legal, tax, and audit obligations. Call detail records are retained as needed for billing disputes and fraud investigation; a formal retention and deletion schedule for this data is under review and will be reflected here once finalized.
7. Data security
We apply technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data involved, including encryption of sensitive identity data at rest, hashed storage of one-time passcodes and passwords, and signature verification on payment and telecom provider communications. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Under the NDPA, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of your data, subject to our legal and regulatory retention obligations;
- object to or restrict certain processing of your data; and
- lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under 18 years of age, given the identity verification and financial nature of the Service.
10. Cookies
